These two Juilliard grads explore contemporary culture and multicultural issues through the prism of the Asian American Experience and have traveled the world with their brand of 'Nuyorasian' street infused pop/rock/hip hop with a decidedly Asian slant.
Comedian and activist Kate Rigg speaks about growing up Can-Asian, being a Rice Cracker, ten things not to say to your Asian friend, ten things not to say to your Asian mother, why multiculturalism matters, the development of the A/Pi voice in the United States, how to feel proud of yourself even though your parents want you to be a doctor and your white friends think you are a nerd, the impact of myths and stereotypes, role models, the model minority, activism, outreach, the multicultural community, and why she didn't go to medical school. Or marry a doctor.
