Anton in Show Business is a clever satire on the world of fringe theatre, centered on a disaster-prone production of Anton Chekhov's Three Sisters. Facing a revolving door of eccentric directors, high-maintenance producers and idiosyncratic cast-mates, the project's three dissimilar stars form an unlikely bond that transcends the play. Featuring a cast of seven taking on a dozen-plus roles, this witty and energetic script by Jane Martin unpacks the rituals and traditions of Fringe Culture. 20% Theatre Company's production re-imagines the common conventions (and clichés) of the stage to ask the question: After all this time, why do we still love Theatre?
