KCVLAA Contracts for Filmmakers & Ask the Experts

1-2pm Contracts - Contracts are the cornerstone of any business, but for filmmakers, much of the information comes in the form of anecdotes from other artists or from the internet (not the most reliable source!). In this seminar you will learn the types of contracts you will need in the course of making your film, what kinds of provisions are standard and considered fair, why you need these contracts, and what happens when you have to enforce a contract.
2-3pm Ask the Experts: Make an appointment to sit down with a lawyer and discuss your arts-related legal issue for thirty minutes. Attorneys can assist with general questions related to contracts, copyrights, business formation, employment issues, and more. You must make an appointment to attend!
