Fish and Vegetables on your Kitchen Counter: Small Scale Aquaponics
Jodi Peters and Jeff Radke will be guiding us through the world of small scale aquaponics.

It's a tasty introduction to growing your own fish and food right on your counter top.

Speaking of taste, here's a sample of what Jodi has to say about aquaponics:

"One aspect of Aquaponics I find particularly exciting is how scalable it is. It can work with 1000's of gallons of water, hundreds of kilograms of fish and multi-storey grow beds of plants, or it can be an indoor home aquarium with one growbed on top. It can grow kitchen herbs using goldfish, or it can grow strawberries using tilapia, or it can grow cucumbers using fresh water crayfish. Aquaponics is a perfect technology for spaces where real estate is at a premium, and especially spaces where a large pond and garden are impossible. Aquaponics works indoors or outdoors, and when created in the context of an intelligent permaculture design, this system can play an huge role in providing nourishing, fresh food with a tiny ecological footprint. I feel that Aquaponics will play a rapidly increasing role in urban food production in the near feature. I truly hope that as more and more people learn, understand and develop various applications of aquaponic technology, the efficiency, resilience and nutrient cycling of aquaponics will become commonplace in our urban settings. I think aquaponics systems can be beautiful, creative and productive, and I love seeing the diversity of how people apply this powerful technology. I believe we are witnessing the start of an aquaponics explosion!"

She's a pretty passionate woman for aquaponics as a tool for food sovereignty.
