An Evening with Richard Walker: Healing from the Backyard
Have you ever wondered why herbal medicine with thousands of years of success was pushed aside by modern medicine?
How about, where is herbal medicine going today?
Or, how do herbs differ from conventional pharmaceuticals?
If you have there may be an evening coming up in May you'll be glad you checked out.
Join Richard Walker, a herbalist and Traditional Chinese Medicine practitioner of over 30 years for a frank and honest look at herbalism today, how it got here and where it's going. Richard will weave the history of the major herbal systems being used today in the world and what they are based on into an evening that's rich with real world experiences of helping individuals and running a thriving herbalism practice. He'll explain the difference methods and approaches to modern day medicine drawing off of his own experience working with conventional doctors.
How can you benefit from herbs as food and medicine by taking care of your own health needs from as far away as the back fence?
Richard will lay out the reasons, species and a bit of cultivation advice for the most medicinal herbs we can grow right here in our own communities.
This is an evening not to be missed.
Proceeds go to support a local community "Garden's for Health" initiative.
