ROMEO AND JULIET AT THE AMERICAN LEGION
Warriors For Peace Theatre reimagines the greatest love story ever told in this vibrant, energetic and accessible one-hour adaptation, incorporating masks, dance and epic sword fighting.

This event is for you if --
You love all things Shakespeare
You believe the arts can heal trauma and create community
You're passionate about creating peace in the world.

The showcase production takes place at the iconic 1920s landmark building, the American Legion, Hollywood Post 43. Our cast is made up of Veterans and Civilians who are passionate about creating healing and community through the arts, and bridging the civil-military divide.

The showcase is followed by a Q&A with the actors, giving the audience an opportunity for dialogue with war Veterans - perhaps for the very first time. Mingle with the cast afterwards at Post 43's historic Art Deco bar, and sip your wine at the same haunt once frequented by Humphrey Bogart and Clark Gable.

WHO WE ARE
Warriors For Peace Theatre is a classical theatre company founded by Army Veteran Christopher Loverro. We believe theater transcends politics and brings people together. We are committed to building bridges between countries and communities, providing healing and empowerment through the arts and promoting peace world wide.

WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING
Knowing Romeo and Juliet, I was expecting to see the sword fights and the balcony scene, culminating in the death of Romeo And Juliet. What I saw was something much more involved and in depth. You see these actors  were VETS. Broken Men and Women trying to piece together their lives and fight off their demons by exposing their hidden feelings. Healing can be a long process but by courageously confronting humanity through the arts they are winning the battle. I thank you for an evening the reacquainted me to how important art is to our humanity.
Ed O'Ross, actor (The Cotton Club, Full Metal Jacket, Six Feet Under)
