FURY Factory - "Take Me to the Bridge" and "And So We Became American"
In TAKE ME TO THE BRIDGE, a professional collector pulls photographs and papers from the surf revealing untold macabre stories. Director Molly Aaronson-Gelb (Just Theater), playwright Erin Bregman (PlayGround), and composer Dina Maccabee (Ramon & Jessica) plunge characters into classic musical structures sonata, sarabande, fugue to explore the boundaries between the rhythm and drive of musical and textual storytelling. ~~~~AND SO WE BECAME AMERICAN is a collaboration among choreographer/dancer Christy Funsch, director/actor Zac Jaffee, and playwright Andrea Kuchlewska. Interweaving monologues, movement inspired by private gesture in public spaces, and polyvocalic textual-poetic experiments, And So We Became American explores themes of assimilation, identity, and inner and outer environments.
