Visionary Organizers Fighting for Collective Liberation
Social movements are advancing transformative visions for a world beyond the convergent crises of our time. How can we respond to the impacts of climate catastrophe, pandemic, capitalism, and white supremacy, while also shaping the wins that will be possible in the future?
On Sunday, January 21st, join us in Orlando at the Renaissance Theater Company or online to hear from three incredible movement leaders about what strategies our movements need now to build the world we long for. Part three of the Anti-Racist Organizing Series of the 2023 Florida Anne Braden Program.

Panelist Bios:
Roxey Nelson is executive vice president of 1199SEIU United Healthcare Workers East, the largest union of healthcare workers in Florida, representing more than 35,000 active and retired caregivers in about 80 nursing homes and 30 hospitals across the state. Roxey is a seasoned community organizer and facilitator of organizational change and development.

Stephanie Loraine Piñeiro is an award winning reproductive justice advocate, abortion storyteller, clinical social worker, columnist, radio producer, and host, born in Puerto Rico, now residing in Central Florida. She is the Executive Director of Florida Access Network (formerly Central Florida Womens Emergency Fund), an abortion fund dedicated to providing financial support and advocacy to Floridians seeking abortion care.

Ruth Jeannoel is a Haitian American, cultural organizer, holistic healer and writer. Ruth serves as the founder and director of a Healing Justice non-profit, Fanm Saj, Inc based in Miami, FL. Ruth is a Founding Member and Owner of Dandelion Medicine Liberation Coop supporting as Lead Restorative Justice/Restorative HR trainer and serves as a Wellness Consultant with Sweet Livity, LLC. She has over fifteen years of experience in popular education, community organizing and advocacy in the social/racial justice arenas.
