DISTILLED -- 21+ Whiskey Reception
Friday May 9th will be a special ticketed event a whiskey reception. Your $30 ticket will bring you to our special opening and receive a first pour from our friends, Fremont Mischief (one of the best of the "new" Seattle distillers of premium whiskey). They are the experts, and they are working on a signature cocktail for the event. After the first pour, Mischief's products will be available for purchase.
You will also be among a great selection of flasks, cups, glasses, trays, even a table for the enjoyment of, yes, whiskey! Twenty artists will be interpreting the theme for you in glasses, flasks, trays, more.
Your ticket is a donation to the RAP Grant fund. All profits from the event will go to support the RAP. What is the RAP? RAP stand for Resident Artist Project Grant. It is a resource to help our residents move their work in a new direction, to move it forward or to plumb an existing idea. This grant program is a mere three years old and we've already sent people to Amsterdam for a wood-firing conference, provided funds to purchase and recondition a ball mill for processing "wild" materials, facilitated sewing instruction and assistance in the construction of a traveler's coat for carrying ceramics (suitcases too), made possible the purchase of a portable jack for moving sculpture securely. That's not all, but it is indicative of the breadth of needs and exciting ideas that our residents come forward with. A residency program that is inhabited by wild ideas and a willingness to risk is the residency program we want and so do you we bet! Hope to see you here!
Must be 21 or over to attend the whiskey reception. A general opening for the public will follow on May 10th.
