Richard Walker Food Forestry Level 2: "Medicine from the Food Forest"
Do you know how to reduce inflammation without IB Profin?
What are 3 plants that can help produce a deep and restful sleep?
If the pharmacies closed shop tomorrow how many of your health needs could you provide for?
As the inuit saying goes, "Wealth is every increasing understanding of the natural world." Being able to identify, process and store medicine from our native and established food forests is an essential skill living in 2014. With a food system AND a heath care system (let's be honest it's more of a sick care system) that's a fragile system in and of itself, it's smart living to have a back up pharmacy in your head and in your local ecology.
Richard Walker is a Master Herbalist and Food Forester. Not a common combination. With over 30 years of experience in each Richard has boiled down the excess to a concentrated essence of what to do and what not to do when it comes to connecting with the plants and fungi around us for our own personal resilience.
I think you'll like this course if:
- you are looking to be taught by a man who has several times been in standing Qi Gong mediation and had several chickadees alight upon him (yup, he's a Canadian Snow White).
- you're interested in knowing the simplest way to use and store medicine from the garden in the forms of tincture, salve, infusions, oils and much more.
- you have an interest in plants and the wisdom they provides.
- you're looking for 2 months of herbalism condensed into two and half days, separating excess into essence.
- you love learning with like minded people.
- you want to add to your herbalism knowledge from some one who's made many of the big and small mistakes over his 30 years of experience.
- you want to understand the full process of medicine making, from "tree to tincture".
If you said yes to any of the above, chances are you're going to enjoy learning from Richard for a weekend of herbalism, education, failures and successes and getting to the core of what it takes to make exceptional medicine from the garden, farm and forest.

Normally I would wax on poetically and humorously about all the reasons why it's a heck of a good idea to take Richard's course but I'll end with a short story.
Richard was approached by an airline pilot from a major airline company. It turns out that his eye sight has degraded past the acceptable limits for the company. Through Richard's help and tincture the pilot's eye sight arrested its decline, improved to acceptable standards (and get this) actually got better.
I think you will enjoy, learn and be very glad you took this course.
I hope to see you in class.
