Body Movement workshops with Dorine Mugisha
Dorine Mugisha will be leading monthly full day Body Movement workshops at The Work Room, open to all levels. She is particularly keen on hearing from people who dont feel represented in dance and has recently started to create spaces for dancing that welcome and celebrate plus sized people, all of our bodies, all of our dancing.

Dorines practice includes a range of styles. She aims to give tools to the attendees to develop and build confidence in their own movement. She wants the attendees to understand and explore their own comfort zone but also challenge themselves to new approaches and concepts, creating more self awareness.

The workshops will also have a key focus on connection: there will be space for attendees to get to know each other, both through movement but also through conversations and discussions.

About Dorine Mugisha

Dorine Mugisha is an international dancer, performer, event organiser and retreat leader. Originally Tanzanian, born and raised in France, living in Scotland, and being an avid traveller, she is inspired by an array of cultures and speaks 4 languages. Her background is in Hiphop and choreography having trained with The Archetype during her time in London before moving to Glasgow, joining Africa Kulture Overseas where she explored more African styles. In the last 3 years Dorine has been focusing on her solo path through Whacking/Punking style, having taken part in over 15 battles across Europe and the Americas.
She has a degree in Law & Sociology, experience working in the charity sector and recently obtained her IAFPD Primary Certificate in Health and Wellbeing Coaching.
Combining her passion for travelling, dance and bringing people together, she created Body Movement to share with diverse people the power that movement has in building your physical and mental wellbeing. Whether you are attending a retreat, a workshop, an event, the aim is to recharge, reconnect and renew you. Feelings always first.
