P.P. Arnold
P.P. Arnold is an American born soul singer who relocated to the UK in the 1960s. By that point she was already known as a member of The Ikettes, Tina Turners' backing group, but Arnold quickly established herself as a solo artist, releasing top 10 hits including "The First Cut Is The Deepest" and "Angel Of The Morning".
Counting Mick Jagger among her early friends and supporters she signed a management deal with Stones manager Andrew Loog Oldham and continued her chart success, also singing on 2 Small Faces classics "Tin Soldier" and "Itchycoo Park".
Her autobiography "Soul Survivor" is published in 2023 and tells her extraordinary story, including her experiences as a young black artist working through her early years in an exclusively white environment.
