Most times, it's not enough for the marketing or business development team to implement firm-wide change they need to have alliances within their firm for success. Experts in their field within the A/E/C industry will share and instruct how by working together, their combined lessons learned and best practices have made their firm a success. Attendees are encouraged to invite a representative within each related department of their firm to share in the learning.

Description Attendees to learn and practice how to implement Best Management Practices related to marketing and BD expenditures to better understand ROI. Your hosts will begin by outlining how marketing and technical teams can effectively align to contribute to your firms' bottom line starting with the development of proposal budgets in the Go-No-Go process, though cost-tracking and calculation of your ultimate ROI through a project's lifespan. Next, attendees will break up into small groups to develop sample proposal budgets with an eye to how to make informed business decisions. Finally, attendees will regroup to discuss next steps forward on the best way to link costs associated with the marketing process with project profitability.

Kate Pixley, ESA's Northern California Marketing Director, has over 18 years of varied experience in the environmental industry designing management programs that spark and inspire thriving marketing and business cultures. With a background in art and education, Kate's approach to marketing leadership is grounded in mentoring and team-building with the idea that organizational achievement starts with collaboration, and a shared vision of success.
Jean Chen, ESA's Vice President of Finance, oversees all accounting activities and assumes a leadership role in the company's banking relationships and strategic merger and acquisition initiatives. Jean has more than 20 years of financial and project cost accounting experience for multi-office professional service companies. Since joining ESA in 2003, she has touched all aspects of the firm's financial management, including leading several system conversions and integrations.
