Professional Series #2 Working with your Technical/Design Staff to Craft a Compelling Project Story
Most times, it's not enough for the marketing or business development team to implement firm-wide change they need to have alliances within their firm for success. Experts in their field within the A/E/C industry will share and instruct how by working together, their combined lessons learned and best practices have made their firm a success. Attendees are encouraged to invite a representative within each related department of their firm to share in the learning.
SPECIAL "BRING A WORK COLLEAGUE" EVENT PRICING: Normally, these evening session are individually price at $50 per person, but due to the special nature of our "tag team" presentations, attendees are encouraged to invite a colleague within their firm to share in the learning at $25 per person!
Description During this 90-minute workshop, your two hosts (professional colleagues in marketing and engineering) will guide participants through real solutions to the many challenges of working with often unwilling or busy technical/design staff to craft a compelling project description. Attendees will learn interviewing techniques that get the most amount of pertinent information in the least amount of time, as well as journalistic writing tips on how to craft and edit relevant and engaging stories. Participants will also have a chance to try out their new skills with others in the group and share lessons learned.
Speakers: Marketing-Technical/Design Tag Team
Vanessa Pelletier is the Business Development/Marketing Manager for CSDA Design Group and Co-Director of the SMPS SFBAC's Communications Committee. Over the past decade, she has worked with architects, engineers and construction professionals to develop winning proposals and strategic messaging. Vanessa holds a Master of Science in New Media Journalism from Northwestern University and a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Communications from Eastern Michigan University.
Randy Waldeck, PE, LEED AP is the Principal Acoustician for CSDA Design Group, and an expert in environmental, aviation, architectural, and mechanical equipment noise and vibration control. His experience includes consulting on more than 500 transit and architectural projects. Randy holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Technology from California Polytechnic State University. He is a member of the Institute of Noise Control Engineering, ULI and the Acoustical Society of America.
