Masonry: Understanding the Care and Repair of Philadelphia's Old Homes
Learn about how masonry and lime mortars in older homes function, why masonry fails, and how to properly maintain and repair the historic brick and stone buildings of Philly. Topics covered include the appropriate mortar components and application methods to use for parging basement walls, repointing brickwork and stonework, as well as managing water, identifying and diagnosing failing masonry, and considerations when deciding whether or not to DIY.
The cost of the class is based on a sliding scale between $20 and $40. Please consider paying more to cover the costs of hosting this class, if you are able.
Cancellations and Refund Policy: If you have signed up for a class but are unable to attend, please email info@westphillytools.org to cancel your enrollment. We will issue a full refund for any cancellations received at least one week before the class date. We are unable to guarantee refunds for cancellation requests received less than seven days before the date of the class, although we will do our best to accommodate late cancellations if we are able to fill your spot. Tickets are transferable; please notify us at info@westphillytools.org prior to the class if someone else will be attending in your stead and provide the attendees name and email address.
