Junior Police Academy
Hi, my name is Officer Heath Provo with the Lafayette Police Dept. I am very excited to bring back the Junior Police Academy in 2023. We are targeting youth from ages 12 to 14 from the Lafayette community. Members of the Lafayette Police Dept. will be giving instruction on traffic stops, building searches, riot team, SWAT team, K9, crime scenes, investigations, Animal Control, drones, etc.
Class size is limited to 25 students at $25.00 per student. Lunch and a snack will be provided each day. At the end of the session each student will be provided a free LPD T-shirt. There is a graduation ceremony at the end of the course that the police chief and the mayor attend. We are excited to hear back from you and if you have any questions please let me know.
