Roth-Lancaster Wine Dinner

Please join us for a private dinner in our Bushwood room on Tuesday, March 25th, as Chef Ben Barth prepares hors d'oeuvres plus four, over-the-top courses to pair with the amazing wines and presence of winemaker Jesse Katz of both Roth Estate Winery and Lancaster Estate Winery.

Lancaster Estate is nestled on 53 acres in the southern tip of the Alexander Valley appellation. The Estate provides a unique environment for the cultivation of the five principal Bordeaux varieties - Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Malbec, and Petit Verdot. The rolling slopes, abundant micro-climates, diverse soil types, and fervent attention to detail allow them to create red wines which are at once powerful, graceful, and complex.

Winemaker - Jesse Katz
As a boy traveling with his well known wine country photographer father, Andy, winemaker Jesse Katz was exposed at an early age to the most famous wine regions on earth. While his father was taking photographs and creating books in Burgundy or Tuscany, the seed was being planted. Later, as a young man working summers in the vineyards and winery lab while attending Fresno State University in California it wasn't long before Jesse had his Enology Degree with a minor in chemistry. After honing his craft in Napa and Argentina, Jesse was recruited from cult producer Screaming Eagle in 2010 and quickly established that he understood how to build on the tradition of excellence that has defined Lancaster Estate from the very first vintage. Working with legendary winemakers like Andy Ericson, David Ramey, Paul Hobbs and Hans Vinding-Diers shortcuts the process of absorbing a lifetime of winemaking insights.  Working in an array of climates and countries brings added depth.  With dust on his boots, Jesse has quickly learned what the estate vineyards promise.

Consulting Winemaker - David Ramey
David Ramey is known for seeking balance and harmony in wines under his care, and for striking results not only for his own winery, but for world renowned wineries like Chateau Petrus and recognizable California notables Chalk Hill, Dominus and Rudd.  The common theme in all of these is often David Ramey.  For nearly a decade, he has added his skill as a member of the Lancaster Estate winemaking team, and the resulting acclaim strongly bears his imprint.

3rd Course: Lancaster Cabernet
Five Spiced Pekin Duck Breast
Confit Leg, Dark Chocolate, Cauliflower

Entree: Roth Heritage

Dessert: Petit Fours & Mignardies

Reception 6:30 pm, seated dinner to begin at 7:00 pm.
Dinner - $100 per person, plus tax and gratuity
