Rod MacDonald and Mark Dann
Road Rambler Convert Series features seasoned artists with a wealth of work and experience. Rod MacDonald is exemplary.
Rod MacDonald & Mark Dann Rod MacDonald was a big part of the 1980s folk revival in Greenwich Village clubs (Wikipedia), where he co-founded the GV Folk Festival and wrote "American Jerusalem," Every Living Thing, White Buffalo and A Sailors Prayer, among his songs recorded by many artists. Now living in Florida, hes been named Best Local Acoustic Artist and one of Ten Greatest Folksingers Of All Time by New Times, and one of Ten Magnificent Musicians Of Palm Beach County by the Palm Beach Post. With Mark Dann as bassist since 1977, theyve co-produced 12 independent cds, with the last three making the national folk chart top twenty. Their organic performance of MacDonalds driving guitar, tenor vocals and songwriting communicating events that have affected and shaped our worlds societies (Labyrinth Café) with Danns freewheeling bass is brilliantly captured in the 2017 DVD Live in Germany.
