Enjoy two BOOM Fringe Shows as well as some Intersection and site specific performances and installations, exclusive artist talk backs all under the expert guidance of Jay, who has performed on BOOM stages and curated behind the scenes since 2017.
Meet at the Beach area at the end of the Ford Building (across Camp Rd. from the 201 Camp Building) at 2pm. Your first performance will be the poetic and musical stylings of Oyemi. Then the group will head up to MacFly Fresh for Lady V's fringe show: Life in a Fishbowl: A Poetic Musical, followed immediately by an exclusive chat with the artist. Then the group will head down to the Raceway for Alyce Cristina Vallejo's fringe show: Glimpse: In, Out, and Forward, immediately followed by a Q and A with the artist. This tour will finish off at the Boileryard with Tosco Music on the stage. Stick around as long as you want or head home to dinner. The tour will end between 5:30-6pm.
Lady V: Poetry/Music Life in a Fishbowl: A Poetic Musical will challenge the systematic structure and social norms of southern church hierarchy and the abuse that happens when a church is full of hypocritical church folks, but not God folks.
Alyce Cristina Vallejo: Dance/ Experiential Glimpse: In, Out, and Forward is a continued investigation of loss and love. Stemmed from a growing curiosity of how we dance with our own experiences. Get ready to enter a realm of connection to interact with and cultivate a shared experience through art, film, sound, text, and movement. Add to the memory wall, pick from a music menu, connect through movement you may become part of the performance!
Tosco Music: Tosco Music is a nonprofit organization with a mission to present a wide variety of music through performances and outreach programs; foster a sense of community among listeners and performers through inclusive participation; and connect professional and amateur musicians to share and inspire one another.
