Hindsight is 20/20, or so they say. And when an avalanche incident occurs it's all too common for those of on the sidelines to pick apart seemingly obvious mistakes, claiming that we would not have made those same choices. It's often overlooked, with in-the-moment-decision-making, that we do a poor job managing our own biases and risk evaluation. So how can we improve our decisions while in the field? For years, avalanche classes have used the case study to link decision-making techniques to actual decision made. For the third installment of our popular Going Deep Workshop, we'll put a twist to the classic avalanche case study.
Join us for an evening with Roger Strong as we attempt deconstruct his avalanche accident using a live case study format to understand the subtle decisions that many of us make and often get away with.
