Join the National Conference of State Societies and the 2014 NCSS Cherry Blossom Princesses for a week of events beginning April 6, 2014 and culminating in the crowning of the 2014 NCSS Cherry Blossom Queen at the NCSS Cherry Blossom Grand Ball on April 11, 2014.
The Cherry Blossom Princess Education and Cultural Exchange Program is a weeklong opportunity for young women from across the U.S. and around the world to come together and network. Since 1948, state and territorial societies, as well as the international embassy community, have selected accomplished young women between the ages of 19 and 24 for their academic achievement, exceptional poise and appearance, excellent interpersonal communication skills, leadership, interest in social, civic, community and world affairs with a strong desire to serve others through community service, maturity and responsibility.

During the festivities, society presidents officially present their princess on stage. Princesses, state and territorial societies socialize in a single venue. Cherry Blossom Princess Alumnae Event
Departing from: Renaissance Downtown Hotel, 999 9TH ST NW, Washington, DC 20001
This year we will be holding a special event for our Cherry Blossom Princess Alumnae on Friday, April 11th. All past princesses are invited to wear their sashes and ride the bus with the 2014 Class of Cherry Blossom Princesses to the Blind Industries and Services of Maryland facility. The event includes a small program, tour of the facility, and a networking lunch. This special opportunity will allow past and present princesses to connect, learn more about BISM, and welcome the 2014 Princess Class into the Pi Alpha Kappa Cherry Blossom Princess Sorority as they officially receive their pins. Don't miss this amazing opportunity to connect and collaborate with Cherry Blossom Princesses from all generations! Space is limited. Register ASAP.

Official NCSS Cherry Blossom Grand Ball & United States Cherry Blossom Queen Coronation

Capping the week of activities is the coronation of the 2014 U.S. Cherry Blossom Queen at the Official Cherry Blossom Grand Ball. Guests at this elegant black tie affair enjoy complimentary Cooper's Hawk Champagne, Sapporo Beer, and Mu Sake, while sampling sushi specially created by the master Sushi Chefs of Japan.
After dinner comes the Grand March and formal introduction of the Princess Class of 2014, in preparation for he much anticipated coronation. With a fateful spin, the Wheel of Fortune selects the princess who will serve as U.S. Cherry Blossom Queen during the 66th Anniversary year. For a few moments she wears the priceless ceremonial Mikimoto Crown, a Japanese work of art. Then, as keepsake gifts from Mikimoto Co., Ltd., she receives a smaller crown and a strand of Mikimoto pearls.
