Berks Movie Madness Film Festival: "Postcards," "Happiness" and "Tears"
Sunday, October 8. Noon to 6 p.m. $5 admission. It's an emotional rollercoaster of local talent for this afternoon. We open with "Postcards from Paradise Park," a dramatic comedy starring Reading's own Conrad Karlson along with Matt Caruso, Bill Weeden, Shawn K. Curran and Karen Scioli (Stella from "Saturday Night Dead.") Another Readingite, Zenta Thomas, co-produced it. "Pursuit of Happiness" is a 2003 romance starring Frank Whaley and Annabeth Gish. The screenplay is by 1980 Wilson grad John Zaring. Finally, "Time of Tears" was directed by native son, Costa Mantis. It's a poignant story shot in Reading. A team from "Postcards," John Zaring and Costa Mantis will be on hand for Q&As following their films. Visit www.berksmoviemadness.com for more details on the films, the festival and the personalities.
