Financial Aid Seminar: What Parents Need to Know
Understanding college financial aid and merit aid is the key to helping your child get a great education at a cost you can afford. If you don't understand how this system works -- and how you can make it work in your favor -- you are likely to have some very unpleasant surprises.

Parents of students of any age will learn how the colleges evaluate your need, what steps your family can take to maximize your eligibility, and how to find colleges with great merit (scholarship) aid. The more time you have before college begins, the better, but even if college begins next year there are steps you can take now.

Private colleges can cost more than $250,000 for a four year degree. Even in-state public colleges can cost more than $25,000 a year. You can lose a lot if you don't understand how this process works -- it could be the difference between your good student being able to attend a dream college or not.
