The Cocktail Hour by A.R. Gurney
the story of a playwright who has come to his parents' home to ask their permission to produce his new play, based on their lives, which he's thinking of calling "The Cocktail Hour." A.R. Gurney's self-referential and sharp comedy of manners is a vaguely auto-biographical look at the fading values of a patrician family that fights its battles with a drink in hand. Dragon Productions Theatre Company's story examines the play within the play and explores the playwright's memory of his caustic but loving family.
