Through fun in-class exercises, you'll explore storytelling, finding the funny, screenwriting, sketch writing, and character development. Every session you can even get feedback on up to 800 words! By the end of class, you'll have finished and polished a few short pieces and have taken your writing skills to the next level. Emmy, Pulitzer, or Oscar sold separately. Experienced and beginning writers welcome.

About DC Pierson:
DC Pierson is an American comedian, author, and actor. His first novel, The Boy Who Couldn't Sleep And Never Had To (Vintage Contemporary) won an Alex Award for adult books with special appeal for teen readers from the American Library Association. His second book, Crap Kingdom was published this March by Viking. He's one-fifth of DERRICK, a sketch comedy group whose videos have been seen over 250 million times on YouTube. He co-wrote and co-starred in DERRICK's feature film,"Mystery Team" that premiered at the 2009 Sundance Film Festival, released theatrically by Roadside Attractions, and is available on DVD from Lionsgate. He has appeared on TV shows such as "Community" and "Weeds", various commercials, movies both short and long. He is a member of The Upright Citizens Brigade's legendary Wednesday Night Brew Crew. He publishes short stories, poems, and un-asked-for opinions on his website, www.dcpierson.com.
