St. Patricks Day Concert Featuring Arise & Go and Paris Texas
Join us for a special evening to celebrate St. Patricks Day at La Tourelle with Arise & Go and Paris Texas on Friday, March 17th. Tickets cost $25 in advance ($30 at the door) for adults and $20 in advance for seniors and students.
The evening will begin at 6pm with a cash bar in the La Tourelle lobby serving local craft beer, wine and spirits. La Tourelle will be offering a special menu for St. Patricks Day for concert attendees and special rates for an overnight stay if you want to make a night of it, and enjoy a beer too many! Come early, save your seat and enjoy dinner and a drink before the show. The concert will begin at 7:30pm.
ABOUT ARISE & GO
Arise & Go is an exciting Celtic trio that finds its roots in the dance music of Ireland, Scotland and Atlantic Canada. Blending pipes, whistles, fiddle, and guitar, the groups varied musical backgrounds combine to produce a sound which is both grounded in tradition and uniquely fresh and driving. From intimate house concerts to festival stages, Arise & Go has been hailed for their precision and energy.
Arise & Go, winners of North Americas longest running live folk radio broadcast Best of Bound for Glory Award 2018, has been featured in Irish Music Magazine, Roots Music Canada, The Boston Irish Reporter and the Irish American News where they have been praised for musical complexity and colour that is also authentically mindful of tradition. 2019 sees the release of the bands new album Meeting Place as members Ellie Goud (fiddle), Michael Roddy (uilleann pipes, border pipes, smallpipes, whistles) and Tim Ball (guitar, foot percussion) showcase the different Celtic traditions that each brings to the groups sound.
Arise & Go formed in 2016 in Ithaca, New York, after meeting at the long-running Irish session held at the legendary Chapter House bar in Collegetown. As of 2020, the band is multinational, with Michael and Ellie now residing in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

ABOUT PARIS TEXAS
Paris Texas performs an eclectic repertoire of vintage bluegrass, western and gypsy swing music. The duo features the jaw-dropping guitar playing of Bobby Henrie who performs Doc Watson and Django Reinhardt with equal passion and precision. He recently released Doc Remembrances, a tribute to one of his musical heros Doc Watson, and performs rockabilly with Bobby Henrie and the Goners and gypsy swing with the Djangoners. Bobby is not only a fine jazz, rockabilly and bluegrass guitarist but also an accomplished old time fiddler.
Rick Manning performs bluegrass, swing and contradance fiddle and mandolin with Paris Texas, the Falling Waters Trio (Grietzer-Hodgson-Manning), the Contradictions, Sommers-Manning, and, formerly, Cornerstone in the Ithaca and Finger Lakes area. Rick has recorded five CDs three in Nashville with Cornerstone in the 1990s and most recently two with the Falling Waters Trio. He is also the founder and director of the Winter Village Bluegrass Festival, and the Winter Village and Falling Waters Music Camps, held during January at La Tourelle.
