Guilty Pleasures XI
The very first Guilty Pleasures at Sam Bonds occurred on Saturday, January 8, 2011. The main idea was to have a night of indulgence right after the holidaze for the people in bands working really hard to put on shows for years. Everyone invited got a chance to choose their Guiltiest Pleasure, meaning songs they either secretly covet or a song they could never possibly work it into their own set. Once submitted, the band would then learn and perform those songs all night with the invitees singing. This was not a covers night. The rules were (1) You had to like the song and (2) You had to feel guilty about it. Simple right?
Over the years this grew into a much larger beast with many more people submitting songs and three bands sharing set duties. After the 10th year, Covid hit giving all the organizers a much needed break. Now the ritual continues again on March 4th 2023.
