The Weirdo Show: An evening of Sideshow and Variety Entertainment
The Weirdo Show is back for another evening of sideshow, burlesque and variety entertainment. With the stunning success of the January show featuring The Schadenfreude Circus, we are bursting with excitement to present the next show!
With Valentine's Day becoming a rapidly fading memory, the February edition of The Weirdo Show invites you to reach out and touch someone, just like we have! Not content to staying in the DC area, we have reached out to the far ends of the DMV and gotten talent that you gotta see to believe! All new to the Weirdo Show stage, we are thrilled to present to you:
Eye popping, jaw dropping, heart stopping (we will have trained medical staff on hand) burlesque by Cherie Nuit!
"Creeping out of the darkness, hailing from the mystical land of Baltimore, comes the comedic assailant of ennui; the girl who is more than the ol' bump and grind. Audiences, you're not ready for this. Bringing light to the darkness, it's Chérie Nuit, Baltimore's darling of the night."
An incredible variety entertainer that continues to stun every time she is onstage and is truly a pleasure to behold: Caitlin Spinnabel Lee!
"Spinnabel Lee wears many hats (seriously, she loves hats!) as a hula hoop and fire entertainer, entrepreneur, movement instructor, and writer based in the Washington, D.C. area. Spinnabel's obsessions with emotive dance, dark humor, and dusty vintage circus explode in a creative cacophony of highly entertaining movement and prop manipulation anywhere she stumbles."
A classic midway attraction that the Weirdo Show is thrilled to see return to its stage, the sensual and seductive art of bellydance. Stevie & Lily are members of Belladonna's Troupe DashKhaleen, specializing in dark fusion and tribal improv dance, exploring the darker side of bellydance. As Belladonna was a contributor to the original Weirdo Show, we are certainly honored to have members of her troupe on our stage.
This month we are truly enthused to have one of the people who helped shape DC's variety community, as well being a contributor to the original Weirdo Show, Swami YoMahmi!
"Swami YoMahmi presents phenomenal feats of sideshow hilarity using shattered glass, rusty nails, a staple gun, razor blades, bondage, a love of pop culture and a rubber chicken. Even if you've seen sideshow before, you've never seen anything like Swami YoMahmi."
Our final performer is one that the Weirdo Show has been trying to book since the beginning and have finally gotten lucky. This performer exudes charm, even when he has the crazy eyes: Buster Britches!
"Buster Britches: Richmond's Creepshow Casanova is a member of the Vaudeville troupe The Slomski Cabaret. Buster is the producer of the Virginia Independent Horror Film Festival and the Producer of the 5 Spot Sideshow in Richmond. He is excited to be invited to DC by Professor Sprocket to perform with the Weirdo Show. If you are ever down in Richmond, stop by Fallout and buy him a Jim Beam Ghost on the rocks."
As always, that man with the silver tongue who can turn a tip like nobody's business will be your ever-lovin host for the evening; Professor Sprocket!
Each month we try to bring you the best in variety and sideshow entertainment the area has to offer and this month certainly is no different! You wont remember the money you spent, but you will never forget this night as long as you live! Come one come all to The Weirdo Show!
