An Evening with Lisa Wolpe
Acclaimed Shakespearean Drag King, Lisa Wolpe, Artistic Director, Los Angeles Women's Shakespeare Company, http://lawsc.net ,who probably holds the record for the woman who has played the most men in the Shakespeare canon, is coming to Vancouver. She will be holding a workshop for the all-female ensemble of Classic Chic focusing on playing the men of Shakespeare. Part of this workshop will be open to the public. As a kickoff to this weekend, Classic Chic is holding a fundraiser at the Anza Club on Thursday, February 27, 2014 with Lisa as guest of honour. She will talk about her life in the theatre, the hows and whys of playing cross-gender, and what it's like to play those great parts of Hamlet, Iago, Leontes, Richard III, Jacquis, and Shylock. http://lisawolpe.com
