Goats at the Governors Mansion!
Broken Shovels is please to announce GOATS AT THE GOVERNORS MANSION, a fundraising event in partnership with FIRST GENTLEMAN MARLON REIS in the holiday-decorated Governors Mansion THIS COMING MONDAY, NOVEMBER 28TH, 2022!

With recent events like the Marshall fire still fresh in our minds, please join Agatha the Goat and her friends for a beautiful, gourmet plant-powered food and drinks; a silent auction for once-in-a-lifetime sanctuary experiences; and an interactive panel to talk about Broken Shovels latest work to become the go-to resource for people in need of a safe place to bring their farm animals when disaster strikes.

Keynote remarks will be provided by First Gentleman Marlon Reis followed by an interactive discussion with Dr. Marc Bekoff, world-renowned author, Professor Emeritus of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology (CU-Boulder), and Co-Chair of the Jane Goodall Institute's Ethics Committee; Sarah Spensieri, Animal Control Supervisor for the Boulder County Sheriff's Office; Ann Walton of Animal Emergency Response and Emergency Operations at the Douglas County Sheriff's Office; and Janee Boswell, Director of Education and Partnerships with Code 3 Associates.

From our states worst wildfires on record to catastrophic flooding and furious bomb cyclones, a lot has happened since Broken Shovels became a sanctuary in 2017. To face a future of unknowns, we hope to become a centralized location for people in sudden and urgent need of assistance with their farm animals. In addition to making the the sanctuary more sustainable and impervious to weather-related natural disasters, this fundraiser will assist in the establishment of a cutting-edge quarantine and intake center for displaced farm animals

We have a generous anonymous matching foundation to double your gifts at this event, so that life-saving care can begin as soon as possible. Your attendance and financial support are most appreciated and will ensure the needs of this innovative program will allow us to fill a critical infrastructure gap, help us to do what we do best, and to do it even better.

Q&A

Question: Hi, I'm trying to purchase a $250 Vet Care Super Supporter ticket for Monday night, however, I don't see a place for credit card entry; only PayPal. I don't use PayPal. How can I pay for this ticket?
Answer: I apologize, it appears that the patron level ($100) is the only ticket that can be paid via credit card w the Brown Paper Tickets processor. I was not aware of this glitch til now. I would suggest purchasing the patron ticket and donating via our website any additional amount. Sorry for the inconvenience, this ticket site has had some issues lately.
