A Little Yumminess Around the World - A Culinary Adventure Summer Camp (Session 1)
We're going traveling with our tummies as our tour guides! From India to Mexico to Scandinavia, our 1-week cooking and writing camp will take a tour of some of the tastiest cuisines around the world, focusing on a different cuisine or country each day. Campers will transport themselves from San Francisco to places far away through a variety of engaging cooking and writing projects:
* On our cooking-focused days we'll taste interesting ingredients from around the world and learn and practice a variety of basic cooking skills while cooking global recipes that we will enjoy together at snack and lunch time.
* On our writing-focused days, we'll wash our hands, pick up our pens and spend time writing about food through a variety of exercises from poetry to restaurant reviews to tasting journals.
Parents: Save the date for a party the last day of each camp session. Join us for nibbles and a reading by our campers.

About The Instructors Simran Singh and Stacie Dong are creators of the blog, "A Little Yumminess" (www.alittleyum.com) and also write about global cooking and food adventures for the San Jose Mercury News food section, Savvy Source and other publications. In addition to teaching this camp, they teach cooking classes for kids and adults at 18 Reasons and other venues.
Tessa White has a BA in Journalism, and an MFA in Writing from USF. After two years teaching writing with the fabulous writing program, "Take My Word for It!" in five elementary schools throughout San Francisco, she launched her own writing program called The Writing Club in Fall of 2013. The Writing Club is a 10-week series of writing classes designed for elementary-aged writers, for both those with a passion for writing and those who need inspiration.
Our camp will also feature guest instructors who will share special skills and expertise with our campers. Past guests have included Bernal Cutlery teaching kids' knife skills and Ferry Building Farmers' Market Chef Chef Elianna Friedman from CUESA sharing seasonal cooking projects.
