To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the release of Green Day's major label debut, Derek Evry and His Band of Misanthropes are performing the entire album at 3pm on Sunday 2/16, at 7DrumLessons in NW DC. The performance will include a running educational commentary from the band about the record, and there will be opportunities for the audience to engage in a Q&A.
Derek Evry has been writing and performing his music up and down the eastern seaboard since 1999. His September 2012 release "Here's to Better Misery" was released to rave reviews. His music has been featured on ABC's show Castle. He's currently finishing up a new EP, due out summer 2014, and preparing for a national Spring tour supporting Seven Dead Arson recording artists Miss Shevaughn & Yuma Wray.
Drummer Ben Tufts is 7DrumLesson's newest instructor. Boasting 25 years of playing experience and 15 years teaching experience, Ben is one of DC's first call drummers. He played 200 shows all over the US last year, with more than thirty different bands!
When he's not playing guitar for Derek Evry or his own solo project A Papier Mache Monster, guitarist Aaron Mason busies himself engineering and mixing recordings for the area's top talent, under the moniker Sound Masonry Recording.
Besides being a top call studio and live bassist and guitarist for many of the DC/MD/VA area's bands, Matt Berry leads his own power pop trio Classified Frequency.
