Budgeting can be a bit of a dirty word and we want to take the fear and guesswork out of this process.
Let the budget work for you - it can tell your story, illustrate your work to funders, and keep your spending on target so that surprises don't cripple your process or production.
This workshop will give you a clear method for how to build the best budget for your project or program. You will be guided, step-by-step, through the process and the language, with a distinct focus on arts-based work. Rebecca Denk will share her myriad experiences in the world of finance and the arts, bring you from formatting to the bottom line (or two or three!) and everything in between.
BYOB: Bring your own Budget that is for whatever you're working on and take the opportunity to workshop it in class. Don't worry, you won't be asked to share any specifics you're not comfortable with this is for you!
Note: There is a maximum of 15 attendees - grab a seat while you still can!
About Rebecca: Currently the Finance Director of the Phinney Neighborhood Association, Rebecca Denk knows her way around a budget backwards and forwards. She has held the roles of Chief Operations Officer of Babeland, Managing Director of Theater Schmeater, and Development Director of Empty Space Theatre and On the Boards under her belt. Rebecca was also the Board President of Shunpike from 2006-2011 and carries an MBA in Arts Administration. Thusly, she is a finance maven steeped in the Seattle arts community. The icing on top is that she is a certified, practicing yoga teacher whose passion for and dedication to the practice goes back more than a decade and she feels extremely lucky to share yoga with students each day.
