Shop at the Durham Farmers Market with 2 professional chefs, then proceed to the teaching kitchen at Durham Spirits Company to prepare & eat lunch. Learn how to use just-picked, seasonal ingredients to create a delicious & healthy meal. Pick up tips from the professionals!
Meet at Durham's Central Park, the home of this Saturday morning market, then let the chefs guide you through, as they purchase lunch ingredients. Once the group has assembled everything you need, you'll drive to the home of Durham Spirits Company chef-proprietor, Katie Coleman, located in a gracious old house at 311 E. Trinity Avenue in Durham, about one mile from the Farmers Market. Joining Chef Katie in instructing you will be Gwen Cummings Maller, pastry chef at Durham's acclaimed Mateo Tapas.
Once there, the chefs will instruct you as they prepare a 3-course lunch with your assistance! A glass of wine or a locally-brewed beer are included in the price of this event. Gratuity is not included.
