Cheatham County Farms Tour

Visit three wonderful farms in Cheatham County on October 9th, 2:00 pm. We meet at one farm and then proceed to the next. Light snacks will be provided.

Sounding Stone Farm
Sounding Stone Farm is owned and operated by Caroline McDonald Hutchins, a native of Nashville. She started Sounding Stone on friends land in 2016 and moved to her own land up the road the following year. She is passionate about caring for the earth, food justice, home cooking, and sharing these things with others. Caroline lives on the farm in Joelton with her husband, Stephen.

Sugar Camp Farm
We are Jesse and Lizzie, first generation farmers who started Sugar Camp Farm in October of 2014. With backgrounds in landscape design and forest ecology, respectively, and a strong desire to pursue a career that worked in concert with nature, our dream to farm was born. We are a very small family farm with up to 3/4 acre under cultivation at peak season. We grow a variety of vegetables and herbs for market, chefs and other local organizations. We are slowly working towards a no-till system and were working towards building and preserving soil biology, chemistry and structure to bring you highly nutritious and flavorful food.

No. 9 Farms
No. 9 Farms is a non-certified organic, regenerative farm that strives to work in harmony with the cycles of nature that surround us on this land, building the soil as we grow. We provide nutrient dense food to our surrounding community in the form of seasonal produce, berries, culinary and medicinal herbs, edible flowers and eggs through weekly produce bags, CSA shares, PYO opportunities and restaurant sales. With a passion for education, we pass on our knowledge so that others can learn to grow for themselves, regardless of their living space. We also welcome others to connect with nature in our AirBnb in the woods.
