The Department of Social Services has a critical role within our communities, and our need to understand and develop knowledge associated with their role and responsibilities is critical in the development of a strong working relationship.
The following learning objectives are outlined:
1) Understand the role of safety, permanency, and well-being in child welfare
2) Develop knowledge of the services provided within the child welfare system (child protective services, in home, foster care, links program)
3) Understand decision making points within system and court involvement
4) Movement of trauma informed care within the child welfare system
