TASTE 2014: TASTE of LOVE Wine Dinner: Experience a romantic "Un-Valentine's" evening
Originally scheduled to take place on Valentine's Day, but re-scheduled due to weather, we now offer an "Un-Valentine's" romantic wine dinner, a one-of-a-kind experience in a unique setting.
Consider being one of the few lucky participants in "TASTE of LOVE," a limited-attendance real-life cooking class & romantic wine dinner at The Kitchen Specialist's magnificent showroom in Durham led by Chef Ricky Moore of Saltbox Seafood Joint. Wine pairings for the meal will be provided.
The evening limited to 24 attendees will begin at 7pm, when you'll enter the reception area at The Kitchen Specialist and mingle with the other guests while enjoying hors d'oeuvres and an aperitif. Following the welcome reception, guests will proceed to the state-of-the-art teaching kitchen for an Italian-influenced seafood meal, prepared before your eyes by our chef. You'll receive a booklet with all of the recipes, so that you can follow along as Chef Moore prepares the meal.
As each course unfolds, you will sip expertly-chosen wine pairings.
THE SETTING: Founded by designer Mary Liebhold in 1989, The Kitchen Specialist is a custom kitchen design studio that features a series of inspiring home kitchen designs. The teaching kitchen, where our Valentine's Day dinner will be prepared & served, features state-of-the-art cooking technology in the warmth of a nature-inspired palette. There's even a fireplace to help set a comfortable & luxurious scene. It is sure to be a very special place for your Valentine's Day celebration.
THE CHEF: Ricky Moore, The Culinary Institute of America-trained chef-owner of Durham's acclaimed Saltbox Seafood Joint, has been cooking professionally around the country for more than 22 years. A former Iron Chef competitor, Chef has been recognized in national publications, most recently as one of the Saveur Magazine 100 and in Southern Living's 50 best budget bites. His culinary knowledge and down-to-earth, personable demeanor will immediately put you at ease for an enjoyably instructional and delicious evening.
