Join Us As We Honor a Springfield Icon!

Each year the Writers Hall of Fame selects a distinguished writer with ties to Missouri to receive its highest honor the Quill Award.

This year's recipient is Springfield's own Hank Billings long time reporter and columnist for the News-Leader. If you've been a reader of the local paper at any point over the past 50 years, you're familiar with Hank's byline. As we honor him on March 15th, you'll get to hear some of the behind-the-scenes stories hilarious, heartwarming and heartbreaking that are a part of his legacy as a commentator on the history of our community.

The Quill Award also serves as a reminder of the importance of writing, while encouraging young people to develop their own joy for writing. Included in the evening will be live and silent auctions, offering a wonderful variety of items that you can bid on to raise money for the Writers Hall of Fame scholarship funds for young writers!
