Consequences is just that style of theater, focusing on the great African American Women Poets Maya Angelou and Nikki Giovanni who both experienced the brutality of racial discrimination, but she also absorbed the unshakable faith and values of traditional African-American family, community, and culture. Both Poets  continue to stir our souls, energize our bodies, liberate our minds, and heal our hearts.

This years production will be the second in AWOL's Poetic Series of plays inspired by the poetic works of Maya Angelou and Nikki Giovanni.Consequences is a poetic and historical journey taken by a young teenager named Mya who is in search of understanding her past that she has been rejecting to understand while attending school in her History class.
