This workshop will offer a candid discussion of what it takes to manage the business side of a feature film production. Useful for all scales of film budgets, the class will give you a sense of how to set up your project in the early stages. Come with questions about your project, and leave with a strategy for a successful production!
Topics to be covered include:
- Different business models and what's best for a film production
- How to set up an LLC, and why
- Preparation of the business plan
- How to go about setting up a subscription agreement, and why
- When you need an attorney, and what they do for you
- Does it matter if and how you pay people?
- Useful handouts with examples of budgets and contracts
- Hallelujah! The film is finished! So, uh, now what?
