Caminos Flamencos presents "Festival de Flamenco"
Artistic Director Yaelisa has organized a weekend of shows featuring exciting guest artists from Spain David Paniagua and singer Juanares along with an incredible roster of some of the finest flamenco artists in the U.S.! Three performances at two Bay Area venues with a rotating ensemble cast which includes Gypsy singers Jose Cortes and Kina Mendez, virtuoso guitar maestro Jason McGuire "El Rubio, dancer Mele Martinez from Tucson, Mizuho Sato from Los Angeles, and the venerable talents of Melissa Cruz and Fanny Ara alongside Emmy Award-winning director/dancer Yaelisa. Yoshi's Oakland on Jan. 30-31 consists of two programs with slightly different casts, and the closing performance at San Francisco's historic Verdi Club will feature the entire cast in a performance of high energy, raw and magnetic power. David Paniagua is a powerhouse dancer based in Madrid who has danced with the greats including Antonio Canales, and brings his singer Juanares, of the gypsy Soto family from Jerez, a soulful and authentic voice of cante flamenco. Each night at Yoshi's Oakland features a different cast and program, and we recommend that you catch both or all three performances! Closing night at The Verdi Club features the entire cast in a stupendous escena de tablao, with a full bar and a grand ballroom which will be consumed by the energy of the eleven artists onstage into an authentic Juerga!. The Verdi Club performance is one you don't want to miss - we hope you will catch one or more shows during this fabulous Festival de Flamenco!
