Bone Confetti
In February 2023, earspace launches its largest commissioning project yet in collaboration with poet Muriel Leung's Bone Confetti. Leungs book explores issues of grief through an interrogation of loss and mourning in a modern reaction to the Orpheus and Eurydice story. Our ensemble has commissioned five emerging composers (Camila Agosto, Nicholas Cline, Richard Drehoff Jr., Ledah Finck, and Danniel Ribiero) to write and design works for earspace, which we will premiere at The Fruit in Durham, NC. Composers are encouraged to collaborate with as many of earspaces musicians as they see fit, developing works that range from solo pieces to interdisciplinary installations.
