Comedian Peggy Platt
Peggy Platt is a Seattle native and has been performing since she was 16, first at the Bathhouse Theatre. At 21 she began a career as a stand-up comic. In 1985 she won the prestigious Seattle International Stand-up Comedy Competition, the only woman to have won to date. As a comic, she's been the opening act for the likes of Cyndi Lauper, Jay Leno, Jerry Seinfeld, Kathy Griffin and Puppetry of the Penis, and has been voted "Seattles Best Comic" by Seattle Weeklys "Best of Seattle" poll nine times.
As an actress, Peg has graced the stages of ACT, Empty Space, SCT, TAG, Alice B. Theatre and was a six-year company member of Seattle TheatreSports. Her one-woman show, Fat Girl Follies, was called "one of the 10 best theater experiences of 2001" and she was hailed as "some kind of genius."
Peg was featured in the film Harry and the Hendersons and the soon-to-be-released Visioneers.

Whatever she's cooked up, you can count on Platt to be funny. After all, this is a woman who delights in more than feminism. Back home, Platt's the proud owner of 150 - count 'em - figurine poodles. She confesses to a deep love for poodles and figurines, and the combination of both in one item creates a kitschiness awesome to contemplate. Luckily, Platt does the job for us, spinning great comedy and a delightful take on life.
