The Penny Dreadfuls
The Penny Dreadfuls are orphans and runaways who spend their nights and days working for the dastardly Professor as pickpockets and thieves. They've got far more than mischief up their sleeves! Their stolen goods always end up at a pawn shop run by the despicable Bethesda Nightsoil and Dorthea Sprockett. The Professor's partnership with these ladies has been very profitable until Mad Aggie, a former Penny Dreadful now disguised as the town lunatic, vows revenge on the Professor for sending him to jail for ten long years. Meanwhile, the Professor's bizarre family, who thinks he's a respectable businessman, comes for an unwelcome visit. This is a fast-paced, darkly comic non-musical reminiscent of Dickens' "Oliver Twist." As in Dickens' novel, all villains get their due. A very atmospheric play full of dark humor.
This non-musical is suitable for theatre-goers ages 6 and up. All patrons must have a ticket. The show will run 90 minutes.
Doors open 30 minutes before each performance.
Opening and closing performances usually sell out. Plan to purchase tickets early for these shows.

Please arrive early. Late seating is limited because of the safety of our performers. Please allow plenty of time for parking. For insurance and safety reasons, all attendees need a ticket, this includes infants.
Accessible Wheelchair Seating is available on the main floor in row A. Each outside corner seat (seats A6 and A7) is our designated wheel chair seat and has a companion chair next to it (A5 and A8). These removable seats are reserved for wheel chairs or for those who have trouble walking up stairs. Our steps to Rows B-F are very low. There is a slight rake to our seating section. The chairs do not have armrests.
