Cochinita Pibil Pop-Up
Growing up in Merida one of my favorite meals was always cochinita pibil. I have such fond memories of eating this dish with my entire family around. Its one of the most Yucatecan/Mayan dishes you can eat. I wanted to share this meal in an intimate and casual setting before I left for the James Beard Awards . . . maybe it will bring me good luck, who knows.
This meal will be 100% authentic, with how I cook it, what we serve with it and the time we eat it.
The menu will consist of
- sikil p'ak
- platter of cochinita pibil
- steamed rice
- pureed frijoles negros
- pickled red onions
- xni-pek salsa
- heirloom tortillas
- platano con leche for dessert
We will have beer and wine available
Ticket price included all food, beverage and service charge.
