No-Till Farming Workshop

Join us for an in-person workshop on No-Till Farming with James Bernston of Radicle Roots Farm on Saturday, May 21st from 9:45am-12pm. In this workshop participants will learn all about farming using no-till regenerative methods. We will tour the two greenhouses, outside permanent vegetable beds and wash/pack shed. We will cover how to transition to no-till methods, how to flip beds, relevant tools, manage fertility and also have the chance to participate in a hands-on demonstration of preparing beds and planting with the paperpot transplanter. There will be plenty of time to ask questions and discuss the pros and cons of no-till and the challenges such as sourcing quality compost, dealing with perennial weeds and adjusting irrigation requirements.

Location: Radicle Roots Farm, 1220 Orchard Ave Snohomish, WA 98290

Coffee, tea and a light morning snack will be provided beginning at 9:45am; workshop starts at 10am. Please expect to be moving around the farm, so dress accordingly for both the activity and the weather. This workshop will run rain or shine.

There is a suggested donation of $20 for SnoValley Tilth members and $35 for non-members, to be paid at registration. Each individual participant must register for this event. Registration will open the first week of May.
