Designing a Forest Gardens / Food Forest
Designing Forest Gardens / Food Forests. How to think like a Forest.
Ancient wisdom for modern times.

Inspired by Permaculture design principles found in the natural system and the collective knowledge of this evolving movement, Jo will take us through how to design our own Food Forest system. We will learn about how to survey a site, how to utilise sun, soil and other energies moving through the site, plant selection and some different design techniques. We will do a group design together to practise this learning. We aim to help you take confident next steps for your own project if you wish.

We will focus our design skills on social, planting and land design for the Abbey Physic's own Forest garden area and we hope Belinda Murray will be on hand to support the medicinal side.

We recommend that you sign up for this series of them as they all have elements of design.
