When a handsome young soldier catches the eye of the most powerful woman in Gerolstein, he goes from Private to General in a flash! Now hell need a war to wincount on the Grand Duchess to make that happen. As ever, Offenbachs lively score is a Pocket Opera specialty.

Nikola Printz, Pocket's inaugural Greenberg Artist, will bring the military-mad Duchess to life. Chad Somers, whom the S.F. Chronicle praises as "resplendent", "among the Bay Area operatic luminaries, will portray the handsome soldier. Chelsea Hollow, Don Hoffman, Michael Mendelsohn and Joseph Raymond Meyers are some of the other wonderful talents who will make this operetta, performed in English, sparkle with comedy and fine singing.

Bethanie Baeyen will make her Pocket Opera stage directing debut, and Frank Johnson (known to Jarvis audiences from It's a Grand Night for Singing) will music direct and conduct the chamber orchestra. Jarvis music-lovers will be delighted to see violinist Yasushi Ogura in the orchestra pit again, as concertmaster of the "Pocket Philharmonic."

Friday, June 17th at 7:00pm. Tickets are $75, Senior Discount $69, Student Discount $29 (with valid ID). Theater Box Office will open at 6:00 pm, and the theater doors will open for General Seating at 6:30 pm. Tickets are available now, online through the Jarvis Conservatory website.
