Ensemble Music Making Intro Series
This 5-week series is designed for Children (ages 7-12) interested in instrumental music performance. Participants enjoy weekly vocal and instrumental ensemble music making in a joyous, non-competitive atmosphere that include vocal music, hand percussion and mallet percussion, and that emphasize creativity, improvisation and collaboration. As an optional addition, children may may enroll in small group lessons with specialists as follow:
WOODWINDS OR BRASS 12:00-1:45 Includes 30 minutes of private or semi-private lessons in technique and theory on a recorder flute (available for purchase for $7) or on a working woodwind or brass instrument belonging to the learner
KEYBOARD OR STRINGS 12:40-2:15 Includes 30 minutes of private or semi-private lessons on technique and theory on the child's choice of keyboard or strings (learner provides own string instrument). This is ideal for children who have a working piano/keyboard, violin or guitar at home and want to begin learning basic skills or build upon what they already know.
MULTI-INSTRUMENTALIST 12:00-2:15 Includes choice of two 30-minute private or semi-private lessons with a specialist as described above
