Jon Reyman-Curly Cutting
Jon Reyman trains in salons across the nation. He has developed a following of hairdressers committed to his unique cutting and body positioning instruction. He is after body wellness, efficiency, and results.
One of the breaks from traditional hair cutting that Jon Reyman Pro encourages is leaving behind old fashioned techniques and embracing a modern--result focused, and natural approach to hair cutting, styling & maintenance.
Curly Cutting: Learn how to cut and control curly hair. We will work on a series of long to short curly cutting techniques to control length, shape, density, and texture. Product understanding and drying techniques are incorporated to create all finished looks. Jon Reyman lead 18 shows during fall fashion week 2013. As an accomplished independent hairdresser in the Aveda network, he's taking business to the next level.
Formerly the Artistic Director of the Aveda Advanced Academy in New York, Jon Reyman started his career in Minneapolis and has since traveled extensively as a hair stylist and educator developing curriculum for salons and institutions across the world. He sees his role as one to empower other hairdressers to discover and foster their own creative and technical abilities.
Jon began his career in 1996 at the Aveda Institute in Minneapolis, Minnesota. After graduating, Jon worked for premier Aveda salons before spending time in Europe training with leading hairdressers in London and Paris. Jon returned to New York in 2002 to work as master stylist at Aveda's West Broadway salon before opening and directing Aveda Advanced Academy in NYC.
Now Jon works as an artist and educator, servicing high fashion, private, and salon industry clients across the world. Jon's work has been featured in Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, GQ, Vanity Fair, WWD, Cosmopolitan, and Elle.
He has appeared on Project Runway, The Apprentice, and Good Morning America. The ability to use his technical and creative skills to empower people on an individual level is what drives Jon in his craft. He is known for his creative use of shape and texture as well as his custom, progressive cutting and styling techniques. He easily abandons old philosophy and processes finding better results through innovationhe naturally challenges rules wherever he goes.
